So many Trolleys to choose from, here are some basic questions to ask yourself before you choose which type of trolley the you will need............ Remember we have a skilled team of sales staff that are there to help, feel free to call and they can help you with your design ideas.............
What are the ground conditions like? if you are working on a smooth concrete floor, then you will be able to use a castor. This is the same type of wheel set up that you would find on you super market trolley, they can be fixed, or swiveling, and can have brakes if needs be. A castor will give you a lot better maneuverability in tight space than the traditional turntable style trolley, this style of trolley would fit within the Platform Trucks Range, Service and Picking trolleys range. If you are working over rough ground then you would need to revert back to the turntable style of trolley. This style of trolley can be fitted with air filled pneumatic tyres, polyurethane puncture proof tyres, or solid tyres. With a turntable trolley the back axles are fixed in position, where the front wheel, follow the direction the the handle in pointing.
Do you need to keep the load at a certain height? In some applications the load is better left at waist/working height, this will reduce health and safety risks from lifting and lowering loads unnecessarily and reduce operator fatigue. heights of table trolleys, or service and picking trolleys can be set at the heights that are determined by you, or can be made with adjustable height settings, speak to our sales team for more information or help in designing the correct trolley for you. the service trolleys or picking trolleys, don't just have to have 2 shelve or 3, if your operation and your product allows it look at 4 or 5 shelves, this can aid productivity dramatically. But don't over ride the health and safety with the productivity, always ensure that the job is safe.
What is the shape of the load? Easy shapes such as boxes and crates, are very simple to move, however if you load is slightly more awkward, then the choice of the style and type of trolley becomes a lot more important. If there is a likelihood of the load falling of the trolley, then you should consider sides, this these can be made and fitted to any part of our ranges, the sides can be fixed in place, hinged so that you have easy access, or removable so that you have flexibility to handle variations in load type. Take into account the frictions involved, with the load slip of the base of the trolley, if this is possible, think of a retaining lip around the trolley, or consider rubber on the base or shelves to reduce the likelihood of an incident. For sheet products there are many ways of moving the load, they can be in an upright position, using either double sided and adjustable double sided trolleys or A-frame trolleys and double sided A-Frame Trolleys, which are excellent for moving windows, boards and sheet products.
Do I need security built in? We have manufactured and supplied trolleys for pretty much anything you can think think of, from fairly low value products such as waste, rubble, through to remarkably expensive items, trolleys for the banks to move cash....... trolleys to Rolex for moving watches....... through to very sensitive documents used by HMRC, so the idea of have security built into trolleys can be important, consider the options that are available of trolleys with locking lids, and doors, secure entry combination lock, or even RFID tagging, and DNA based water............. the lists are endless.
I need to move over rough terrain, but still maintain maneuverability? Balance trolleys although a little old fashioned, still have role to play and safe and secure handling, again if you just think of the types of trolley base, whether it be Turntable trolleys, service and picking trolleys, platform truck and flatbed trolleys, balance or mobile racks, then any of the top can be adapted onto the based, so we can product a rough terrain turntable trolley but with adjustable sides, or with an a-frame mounted on the base. Or a balance style trolley with shelves, or a cradle for long loads, or security cage mounted as made for Heathrow VIP lounge............. Is all you need to do is use you imagination...............
