Drop Pads
Drop Pads, Cellar Pads and Bumper Pads are commonly used in breweries, pubs and clubs for quickly and safely lowering kegs into cellars or off the back of the drays/lorries.
The differing sizes of pads are available for different reasons.
Small pads, known as Drayman’s Drop Pads or Matts, are small enough to be easily moved around by the dray operators.
Whereas the larger 900 & 1000mm versions are more often static catch pads, where cellars are traditionally under the pub, hence the name cellars. These pads stay in situ under the Delivery Hatch, where the barrels are lowered down safely and under control into the cellar using Hook and Rope sets.
The foam must be the correct density and thickness to ensure if the barrels did slip of the Hook and Ropes that it can be safely caught and absorb the impact in a safe manner.
