Powered Service Trolley, designed for the wonderful people at the Hospital League of Friends, has been developed as an easy to use and highly mobile storage solution in conjunction with Kent and Canterbury League Of Friends. With a motorised top speed of 6km/hr, a user friendly speed system means the user is in total control. The more pressure applied to the electronic throttle, the faster the trolley will move, reduce the pressure and the speed will reduce accordingly. Maximum and Minimum Speed can be set via a very simple rotating speed control dial, with a max of 6 km/hr and min being 2 km/hr. This speed can be further adjusted at factory with greater accuracy to raise and lower the speed limits, as well as fine tuning of the braking system and other elements so that you the operator has absolute control of the trolleys parameters ensuring ultimate safety. The shelves on the trolley are metal and removable for easy cleaning, and the top shelf optional features taller sides.
With safety in mind, all powered trolleys are fitted with an emergency 'Deadman' brake. When the throttle is released, the trolleys' motor will lock. As well as this, the trolley features an emergency stop button, which when pressed will cut off the trucks power system and lock the motorised wheels, halting it in place.
User Interface With an ergonomically positioned handle and robust user interface, the buttery fly throttle is perfectly positioned to provide 400w of high torque power directly through the transaxle. Intelligent battery indicators give clear LED light instruction to tell you the exact state of your battery charge, with a 20km range between charges this lets you know exactly when you need to return to base for a charge or battery swap. The variable speed adjustment allows you to set the trolley speed directly on the operator controls, allowing the operator to restrict the speed in certain areas. For instance, where there is a high volume of pedestrians to increase safety, and for further control, this parameter can be controlled and set at factory so the speed can be set anywhere between 1 min - 6 max kmph. The heavy-duty industrial steel casing for the user interface is IP54 Rated and then covered with a further moulded Perspex cover. Finally, the anti-trap button perfectly positions so that if it were to hit the operator the trolley would automatically brake and go into safety mode so that it couldn’t be moved without reset, stopping any operator getting trapped.
With the top shelf positioned at the optimum waist height to make the placing of even heavy load as safe as possible, it has 18mm WBP plywood surface, mounted in a picture frame constructed from 25mm x 5mm angle iron, giving a flush surface. The base unit is laser cut from a single piece of box section for additional strength and a curvaceous corner that is kinder to any ankles or walls that they may encounter compared to a mitred frame, and considerably stronger that a pressed sheet steel base. Under side, the battery is fully encased in a 2mm thick steel box, eliminating the risk of damage to any lead acid battery or even worse risking thermal runaway from a pierced lithium battery. The whole unit is controlled by our Curtis Microprocessors which is where the clever bit happens, controlling all the parameters within the trolley; acceleration, max speed, regenerative braking characteristics, amber warning beacons, even the audible warnings. Thyristor speed control system ensures the user is in total control. The more pressure you apply, the faster the trolley will move, reduce the pressure and the speed will reduce accordingly. There is no steeping through power steeps that you would get through a transistor control, smooth all the way.
