Turntable Trolley Parking Brakes from Handle-iT: Safer Loading and Handling

A Turntable Trolley makes heavy or bulky loads easier to move, but keeping it stationary during loading and unloading is equally as important. A Turntable Trolley parking brake helps prevent unwanted movement and gives operators greater control.

What is a Turntable Trolley Parking Brake?

A parking brake holds the trolley stationary when it is not being moved. On a Handle-iT Turntable Trolley, the braking system is integrated with the steering mechanism.  This addition allows the trolley to be secured in place by raising handle which drops a bar on to the wheels to prevent movement.  A linked foot pedal releases the parking brake and steering lock.

Why Use a Parking Brake?

A loaded trolley can move unexpectedly because of gradients, uneven surfaces, accidental contact or movement during loading. A parking brake helps:

  • Prevent unintended movement.
  • Provide a stable platform for loading and unloading.
  • Improve control when positioning or securing loads.
  • Reduce the risk of a parked trolley entering pedestrian or vehicle routes.

The brake is an additional safety control for operators.

Handle-iT’s Parking Brakes can be fitted to any standard Turntable Trolley with a range of capacities, base sizes, wheel types and side panel kits.
