Electric Powered Flatbed Trolley, part of our HI-POW range of powered trolleys, manufactured here in the Southwest. As the pressures to meet and exceed safety requirements, keeping up with efficiency and productivity demands grows. The more Handle-iT’s Hi-POW high powered platform trucks and trolleys have revolutionised many of the UK and the world largest companies, the reviews and blog posts over the past 20 years speak volumes for our experience in this range. From Google to The King, from Coca Cola through to Astra Zeneca and over 80 NHS trusts and Universities, they all can’t be wrong. These Powered Trolleys with 3 Shelves have become an integral part of many NHS trusts up and down the country, with the shelves offering great storage and carrying capacity whilst the powered drive system reduces fatigue, strain and pain, and significantly increases productivity. With a single charge providing as much as 24km range the HI-POW range does what it says, provides high power all day every day.
User Interface With an ergonomically positioned handle and robust user interface, the butterfly throttle is perfectly positioned to provide 400w of high torque power directly through the transaxle. Intelligent battery indicators give clear LED light instruction to tell you the exact state of your battery charge, with a 20km range between charges this lets you know exactly when you need to return to base for a charge or battery swap. The variable speed adjustment allows you to set the trolley speed directly on the operator controls, allowing the operator to restrict the speed in certain areas. For instance, where there is a high volume of pedestrians to increase safety, and for further control, this parameter can be controlled and set at factory so the speed can be set anywhere between 1 min - 6 max kmph. The heavy-duty industrial steel casing for the user interface is IP54 Rated and then covered with a further moulded Perspex cover. Finally, the anti-trap button perfectly positioned so that if it were to hit the operator, the trolley would automatically brake and go into safety mode so that it couldn’t be moved without reset, stopping any operator getting trapped.
With the boarded surround keeping your product safe and sound, it has 18mm WBP plywood surface, mounted in a picture frame constructed from 25mm x 5mm angle iron, giving a flush surface. The base unit is laser cut from a single piece of box section for additional strength and a curvaceous corner that is kinder to any ankles or walls that they may encounter compared to a mitred frame, and considerably stronger that a pressed sheet steel base. Underside, the battery is fully encased in a 2mm thick steel box, eliminating the risk of damage to any lead acid battery or even worse risking thermal runaway from a pierced lithium battery. The whole unit is controlled by our Curtis Microprocessors which is where the clever bit happens, controlling all the parameters within the trolley, acceleration, max speed, regenerative braking characteristics, amber warning beacons, even the audible warnings. Thyristor speed control system ensures the user is in total control. The more pressure you apply, the faster the trolley will move, reduce the pressure and the speed will reduce accordingly. There is no steeping through power steeps that you would get through a transistor control, smooth all the way.

Initially Sceptical
I didn’t believe initially that this was needed, or would bring value to our business. However, we have had this cart on site now for over six months, I’m very impressed by the build quality and attention to detail in the design, particularly the rounded corners, and the thought that has gone into the ergonomics. The initial sales patter suggested all the benefits we would get which again I didn’t believe. However, this cart, now carts are indispensable, the sales patter regarding the effectiveness of staff in the final element of shift patterns is so true, we have seen a 32% uplift in productivity with picking in the final two hours of out 12 hors shift pattern, we’ve seen a reduction in staff days off which I now strongly believe is down to the reductions in fatigue, we always have worked our teams hard, now we are working them more efficiently, Thanks Kelly, Lydia and Daniel.
